"An acquaintance will come and visit you in jail. A true friend will be sitting in the cell with you!"
Last night a very dear friend of mine talked me down from doing something seriouly stupid and really not worth the spent energy.
This friend of mine has the uncanny ability to not only get me to talk but to get to me to shut up---especially when it in my own best interest.
So, thank you my friend. You know who you are
This brings me to the point of my aticle. How many times in our lives have our friends either directly or indirectly "talked us down" and helped us avoid going over the cliff of stupidity or from spinning into the wall of stupid?
My best friend of over 30 years who is like my sister knows me better than I know myself sometimes has never once said I TOLD YOU SO....but she has in her own way always found her own way of 'redirecting" Susi away from what we call "Pulling a Susi"
What would we do without our friends? The family we aren't born into but the ones that we choose and enter our lives and leave their mark on our hearts and spirits like no one else (sometimes)
So, share your story(ies) of how your friends have talked you down or redirected you away from the wall of stupid. No need to go into gory details but maybe you haven't thouht about a certain moment in a long time but realize it truly did have a postive impact in your life.
Have fun. Keep this nice kids. Hate to call out my flying monkeys on something that shouldnt but I will.
